INGREDIENTS
Six apples Granny Smith, or other variety
1 ½ cups apple cider or apple juice
¾ cup brown sugar
¾ tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. Ground nutmeg
¼ tsp. Allspice
¼ tsp. Ground cloves
¼ tsp. salt
INSTRUCTIONS
Peel, core, and dice apples and then add to slow cooker. Pour in cider/juice, sugar, and spices.
Cook on high until bubbly and then reduce heat to low and cook 6-8 hours, stirring every hour. When done, the apple butter will have thickened and been a deep brown color. 3. For a smooth texture, use an immersion blender to break down any remaining chunks of apple.
Store in refrigerator for up to 1 month.
